Plum Area Soccer is pleased to announce the formation of a  partnership with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. This unique partnership permit the Riverhounds and Plum Area Soccer to work together in the promotion and development of soccer in Western Pennsylvania.

     The “Partners Program” involves the clubs and the Riverhounds sharing resources, which benefits player development while promoting professional soccer in the area. The partner clubs agree to utilize their vast collection of coaches, parents, players, administrators, and volunteers to assist in the promotion of Riverhounds youth development and marketing initiatives. The Riverhounds will then provide training assistance, coaching education, ticket and merchandising discounts, as well as access to the world famous Everton Way website.

 

     This partnership launched the Riverhounds Winter Academy, which will be conducted from November to March at the Greentree Sportsplex. Everton will assist the Riverhounds in the development of an Academy curriculum, as well as provide their expertise and technical advice.

      One aspect of the Everton partnership is a coaching exchange program. Partner clubs will have opportunities to travel to Everton and visit the Everton Academy, along with Riverhounds staff coaches. The Riverhounds hope to add to this agreement by having player exchanges between the players who participate in the Riverhounds’ Winter Academy and the Everton Academy in Liverpool. Both boys and girls will be eligible for the Riverhounds’ Winter Academy.
